About Margaux

"I’ve grown from a hateful relationship with my body to feeling more whole, vital, and at peace with my weight."

I was born in France, in a culture that prized thinness far more than health (think underweight women surviving on coffee and cigarettes!). I’ve grown up around women who were very critical about their weight – and judged mine as well.

From my youngest age, I remember my body being scrutinised, commented on, given labels. I remember my anger and confusion around the double standard: eat what you want if you’re thin, restrict if you’re not.

At 16, I tagged along with my mom to a dietician and was put on my first high-protein, no-carb diet. It worked — until it didn’t.

Over the next 15 years, I cycled through many restrictive diets, gaining and losing between 15 and 20 kilos again and again, eventually racking up over 60 kilos of weight loss — and regaining.

It wasn’t until my divorce that I decided it was enough. Enough with giving away my power. Enough with starving myself – physically, emotionally, and energetically.

I ditched my toxic beliefs around myself, and food, and focused on nourishing every aspect of my life. I let go of perfectionism, and learnt to embrace my body and its wisdom.

My life feels fuller than ever, and whilst my body still doesn’t look like that of the girls in the magazines, I’ve reached a healthy, stable, weight.

I never consider myself on a diet. That freedom? It’s the freedom that I want you to have as well.
